The team from networktest.com released this great new configuration guide to help networking professionals interconnect HP Networking and Cisco Catalyst switches using a variety of protocols commonly found in enterprise campus networks.
By following the step-by-step procedures described in this document, it should be possible to verify interoperability and to pass traffic between the two vendors’ switches. Further, the procedures decsribed here follow HP’s best practices for network design and deployment.
The guide is intended for any network architect, administrator, or engineer who needs to interconnect HP and Cisco Ethernet switches.
It assumes familiarity with basic Ethernet and TCP/IP networking concepts, as well as at least limited experience with the HP Networking and Cisco IOS command-line interfaces (CLIs). No previous experience is assumed for the protocols discussed in this document.
