HP released a new technical whitepaper that provides information on an HP MSA 2040 Array and HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 server with HP SN1000E 16Gb 2-port PCIe Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters storage solution for Microsoft® Exchange Server 2013 (Exchange), based on the Microsoft Exchange Solution Reviewed Program (ESRP) –Storage program.
This solution implements the Database Availability Group (DAG) mailbox resiliency feature found in Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 (Exchange). This feature is the base component of the high availability and site resilience framework built into Exchange. A DAG is a group of up to 16 mailbox servers that hosts a set of databases and provides database-level recovery from failures that affect individual servers or databases.
This solution brief describes a tested configuration for deploying Exchange in a 750-user mailbox resilient environment. The performance results and best practices outlined in this document provide tested guidelines for configuring Exchange with the HP MSA 2040 Array and HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 servers in a SAN storage solution.
