HPE InfoSight is alive and kicking

Bye bye StoreFrontRemote, welcome HPE InfoSight…

So far, HPE offered the StoreFrontRemote portal for cloud-based monitoring of its storage portfolio. For instance 3PAR, StoreOnce and StoreVirtual were supported.

With the acquisition of Nimble and its InfoSight portal, that delivers cross-stack analytics, HPE announced last year at HPE Discover in Madrid that they would unify all those portals and extend InfoSight analytics to its 3PAR platform…

Current 3PAR customers might have noticed that HPE is started with revamping its StoreFrontRemote portal with InfoSight goodies… All(most all) HPE storage platforms are now combined in this 1 portal.

And it doesn’t stop there. For VMWare environments, HPE has introduced noisy neighbor analysis because of compute contention (CPU and Memory). They also added detailed volume level analytics around performance, capacity and data protection parameters for your arrays. The revamped InfoSight user interface enables you to troubleshoot your VM, host and storage environments in a much quicker and easier manner.

Not all functionality is there yet, this will be enabled over time… For instance the visibility between the various infrastructure tiers is currently Nimble only, 3PAR customers need to update their Service Processor first to version 5.0.3 before they can connect their Service Processor to the virtualized environment to collect telemetry data…

Like they say: it is alive, and soon probably even more kicking as well…
To be continued for sure. I will update this article when more information is available.

The new portal can be found here: https://infosight.hpe.com.
