SSA Smart Storage Administrator replaces ACU Array Configuration Utility

While I was installing the latest SPP Service Pack for Proliant 2013.09 on my servers, I noticed the installation of a component that I never saw before in the previous SPP releases : HP Smart Storage Administrator.

After having installed and started the installation, it seemed that this SSA is the replacement for the good old ACU Array Configuration Utility.

The layout of the tool seems to be the same as we found already in the new HP SUM 6.0, Insight Control Server Provisioning and he recently announced HP Oneview.

SSA1

The main screen of HP SSA is divided into three major parts: the header, a left pane, and a right pane. While the header is accessible from anywhere in the application, the left and right panes change dynamically to present relevant options and information.

All the features we had in ACU can be found also in SSA…

HP SSA will officially support the following existing controllers or devices:
−HP P212, P410, P410i, P411, P800, P812, P711m, P712m, and P700m Smart Array Controllers
−HP P222, P420, P420i, P421, P822, and P721m Smart Array Controllers
−HP SC11Xe, SC08e, HP H220, HP H221, and HP H222 HBAs
−HP Dynamic Smart Arrays B110i, B120i, B320i and HP H220i HBAs
−HP Smart Array P731m/2GB FBWC 6Gb 4-port Ext Mezzanine SAS Controller
−HP Smart Array P431/2GB FBWC 6Gb 2-port Ext SAS Controller
−HP Smart Array P430/2GB FBWC 6Gb 2-port Int SAS Controller

It is obvious HP changed also this tool to allign the way of working in all HP server management tools the same…

So don’t worry when you update your servers, check out this little nice utility!
